Ways to Create the Perfect Seasonal Bedroom

Do you have a favourite season?  Most people do, so what better way to design your bedroom than to base it around your favourite time of the year. Each season has its own unique look, so taking advantage of them should be simple.  Here are some of our favourite ways to create the perfect seasonal bedroom.

Spring

Spring is all about the pale yellows, lilacs and blues.  If you don’t fancy painting every wall in one of these colours, you could have your base colour as a bright white, and have an accent wall to introduce your favourite spring tone.

Enhance the spring theme with bright flowers, wide-open floral curtains and a wooden bed like the ones available form Revival Beds – sticking to natural materials really suits this season.  Finish off by accessorising with soft cotton or linen bed sheets, and floral scatter cushions to add splashes of colour to your room.

Summer

The key to summer season décor is light.  Paint your walls in bright, bold colours like yellow, and allow as much light into your space as possible by using mirrors and other sparkling materials such as ceramics and metal.

Wood or carpet are perfect for flooring, but either way, make sure to use a light tone which works well with your wall colour.  If you choose to go down the wood route, lay bright, vibrant rugs over your floor to protect yourself from cold floors on a morning, giving you the illusion of a warm summer morning all year round.

Autumn

The colours of autumn are red, brown and orange.  To adapt your room to this style, choose a deep maroon bedding, and lay blankets along the bottom of the bed.

Tartan is a great choice which is very much in trend, and really adds to the autumnal look.  To accessorise this style, you could press dried leaves into frames and hang them on your walls, or you could create a decorative autumn bowl full of pinecones, berries and autumnal spices like rosemary and thyme.

Winter

For a wintery look, deep, rich colours are the ones to choose, coupled with darker shades of wooden furniture and more cushions and throws for your bed.

If you’re happy to do some crafting, you could really enhance the wintery tone of your room by taking Mason jar candles and adding Christmassy spices like cinnamon and cloves to them, filling your room with a wintery aroma, even when the candle’s not lit.

So there you have it. If you’ve been trying to come up with ways to create a great bedroom theme to match your favourite season, now you can – Start today.
