Travelling to Paris for the Wine!

A trip to Paris is a high priority for a lot of couples. Paris has the reputation to being one of the romantic places in Europe, along with having some of the best food and wine on offer. Instead of going on a trip around all of the vineyards to sample all of the different wines on offer, you can always visit some of the best bistros and cafes in Paris, and sample some of the best food and wine that the country has to offer.

Choosing a Hotel

You may wish to draw up an itinerary of the things that you wish to see and do, whilst you are in Paris. This can help you to choose a suitable location within the city, which gives you the best access to your chosen places of interest. A good way to do this is to use an online map, which allows you to mark points of interest, or even hotels and restaurants.

You can easily find many Affordable Hotels in Paris, and a quick look on the internet will show you plenty of options available. Many websites also offer reviews which are written by the guests, which can give you a great insight into your potential hotel. From rooms with a view, to rooms for people on a budget, there is plenty on offer all over Paris.

The Food and Wine

The same way that you can look for good hotels, and use the customer’s reviews, you can also find a great selection of places to eat and drink.

•    Cafe

•    Bars

•    Restaurants

•    Bistro

What a perfect setting, sitting at a sidewalk cafe with the one you love, enjoying the sights and sounds of Paris, and also enjoying some good food with a fine wine! You can try mixing it up with some of the younger crowd at Chez Georges, which is a converted wine cellar and has been open since 1952.

You could also go for the Bohemian style at Les Caves Populaires, which is in the lively Rue des Dames area of the city. With a fine selection of wine and cheese on offer, you can mix with the blue collar workers and enjoy some exquisite wines and cheeses.

Getting Around Paris

You may as well get out and explore the city as well, instead of just staying put in the first cafe that you come across! Getting around Paris offers lots of choices, with trains, buses, bicycles, taxis. You can even hire a horse and carriage! If you are going to be drinking you do not want to be in charge of a vehicle, even a bicycle, so use the public transport on offer, such as the Metro, and try and avoid getting taxis, as these can be very expensive.

If you know where you are going, then ask at your hotel as to the easiest and quickest way, and they should point you in the right direction. Take your Smartphone with you as this is a great way to access a map, as well as also use online translation, if you have trouble remembering the French you learned at school. One thing is for sure you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing what to eat and drink!
