With the summer months fast approaching, we want to know what the celebs are drinking to keep them cool, refreshed and looking good. It would seem you can’t wander down the streets of Hollywood (if you’re lucky enough to live there) without seeing Cameron Diaz or Kim Kardashian sipping the latest smoothie mash up, and why not, they fruity, refreshing and full of goodness.
But, what’s so great about these brightly coloured concoctions?
- Hydration – smoothies are great for keeping your body hydrated. Whether it’s a fruit or veg smoothie, they are most made up of water due to the high water content of fruit and veg (as well as the milk and youghurt)
- Good for you – smoothies are absolutely packed with vitamins and minerals, depending on what you chose to have in your smoothie one serving could fulfil your five a day quota
- Prevents hunger – if you’re feeling a little bit peckish but don’t want to snack on junk food then smoothies can help fill that gap between meals, thus helping you shed a few extra pounds
